Woman allegedly raped at New York Airbnb received secret $7m settlement – report

Imo, cases like this where it is a public safety concern and directly involves the place itself, the stipulations from the agreement that

Under the terms of an agreement negotiated with Airbnb by the woman’s New York attorney, and paid out two years after the incident, she was prohibited from discussing it, suing the company or implying that Airbnb held “responsibility or liability” for the attack.

should be struck from contracts like this (the points i'm referring to in bold). While it may damage that specific bnb's reputation, letting the public know that a "rape took place here" (when and how) is a right for any future tenant to have access to.

More specifically the information should be publicly available but that it should also not inherently imply that airbnb is responsible or liable in future lawsuits after the settlement. Although it is perfectly reasonable for future customers to know and understand that such violence has taken place and that the owner denies responsibility and liability.

When people stay in hotels and such they assume the management taks some form of security responsibility. If that is not the case it should be public info.
