The ban had support in some polls when introduced in less strict version, which fell and now is minimal. Also it had support of the church (they lobbied A LOT with bishops speaking on the issue) and Solidarity is the CONSERVATIVE trade union and does not hid it, opposed to OPZZ, ZNP and others on the other side. Fun fact, from the beginning the ban is universally hated on r/Poland (conservative), r/Polska (leftist) and Wykop (very right wing), so are you and some of the Poles on r/Europe here (as you got upvotes) that one lost community that actually supports the ban and the official reasoning behind it?
