Woman is mortified that her daughter was circumcised, Son was also circumcised but its ok because, "it's cleaner and healthier for boys" (crosspost from /r/twox)

You are factually incorrect.

Removing the foreskin is less painful, invasive and is more sanitary.

This is not true. We have abundant proof of that from places where boys are routinely circumcised at an age when they can report on pain, like the Philippines, and places where girls are normally circumcised at an age when they can report on pain, like east Africa. Also, clinicians provide the same sanitation for girls and boys. Non-clinicians often do, also. And it doesn't matter. If either gender is treated in unsanitary conditions, it's argues for sanitation. Unless you're cool with girls being mutilated in hospitals. FGM is not more invasive. Clitoridectomy is very, very rare.

Additionally, it prevents a problem that sometimes occurs when the penis cannot be become fully erect because the foreskin is too narrow.

Circumcision is not neccesary to correct this problem. And why would you allow circumcision of boys that don't have this problem? This is as dumb as saying we should cut off the ears of all boys at birth because some of them might have skin cancer in the future.

Female circumcision does not cut the skin. It actually cuts the genital.

This is factually incorrect. That's obvious from the language. What is "the genital," and why do you not think the foreskin is "the genital"?

Sometimes it's just the outer 'lips', but more often than not it's the outer and inner vulva.

Once again, your use of the term "the lips" shows you are not familiar with anatomy, or surgery.

This is called “infibulation.”

No, it's not. Infibulation includes clitorectomy. Incision of the clitoris, and even substantial incision of the vulva occurs in far less than 1% of FGM, and is geographically limited.

Then the opening is stitched to form a small hole, out of which urine and menstrual blood may have difficulty exiting. This is less sanitary and far more dangerous.

You're wrong again. The type of procedure does not determine if it's sanitary. One could perform a clitorectomy in an operating theater, or male circumcision in a cockfighting arena. Also, neither FGM not MGM procedures are dangerous by any measure. Complication rates for both are vanishingly small. Both are harmful and appalling, but not because the procedures are dangerous.

That's why you're wrong.

I have posted unassailable sources that confirm all of these statements in this sub many times. I can't do so today.
