I stopped using twitter because I got sick of people thinking it’s ok to tell other people how they should think or feel.

It’s like every single vocabulary word is offensive because of it’s initial Latin meaning or how it was used in the 1100s to degrade some subset of humans or some shit like that.

I’m about as liberal as one can be, yet I found myself starting to identify with folks who complain about “having to be PC”. It’s just mentally exhausting reading all the ways we’re supposed to be offended or which celebrity/movie/song we should no longer like because it wasn’t explicitly inclusive or whatever.

Kind of a bummer, since I’d started using it when it was still quite new and have made some really strong friendships through it. There’s a bunch I now know “IRL”, but I still miss some of the others I used to interact with before it became a shit show.
