Europe is big enough continent - every country has it's laws and the situation is different in each of them. There are countries that hasn't had these types of incidents for decades. The other utter crap is comparing organized terrorist attacks to some psycho shooting. Yes - people can be harmed in any way, but having a firearm, which is specifically designed for this purpose, kind of helps you do it. You can protect yourself from a cold weapon or a vehicle easier than stopping a bullet.

In Europe, people are stabbed, bombed and run over. In the US, they're shot. All these things can happen all over the world, being in Europe doesn't make you immune to being shot.
