Woman sues family of a boy she hit and killed in her SUV for "emotional trauma"

Have any of you even considered her side of the story?

Have you considered what three boys are doing riding bikes three abreast in the middle of the road?

Consider this, you're driving home. It's late. You had a long day that got even longer when your friends obligated you and your husband to go out with them that night. Now the day is finally over, you're just so excited to get home. And then suddenly, you hit something. You didn't see anything really. This time of night, this road, how loud it was...it must have been a deer. So you pull over and find out that you hit a boy. He's broken, he's screaming, he's dying.

Every one is telling you it isn't your fault, the kids shouldn't have been riding in the middle of the road. They were being negligent and breaking the law. Yet that doesn't calm the guilt that you feel, or erase the absolute horror your experienced that night. You can't sleep. You can't go to work. All you can do is hear that boy's cries.

And then to make matters worse, you are now being sued by the kid's family. It was the kid's fault in the eyes of the law, and yet they are suing you. You get a lawyer. He tells you that the best thing to do to make thing to do is to countersue. It will make you look like a monster, but its your only chance of getting the family to back down.

You follow his advice, you file the suit. Only things get worse. The town media picks up on it, the province, soon it goes global. The lawsuit against you is now the least of your concerns. Now people who weren't at the scene and can't be bothered to spend 5 minutes to research the facts are contacting you in any way they can to tell you what an evil person you are. Monster. Murderer. You hear it now everywhere. You read about it every day in the news. Terrible things are written about you by vandals on your property.

This is now your life. It seems that almost everyone in the world wants only to tell you what a worthless person you are. You take these feelings inside. They grow. They become you. You can't function now. Now the suit is real. Now your life is ruined. Now you need this money. All because some dumbass kid decided to ride a bicycle in the middle of the road, at 1:30 at night.

Seriously, grow the fuck up and try to see things from someone else's point of view.
