Yes, because my relationship with my father is strained. I left the household at a young age like before 16 years old because I went through some really hard things and felt extremely emotionally neglected and I cared for. We had food and a house and he worked hard, evidently, but he didn’t really speak to us unless we were in trouble. I’m still distant with my father and always have been, despite our attempts as adults and even apologies on both ends, it’s still just a hole for that place where I feel I never got that fathers love.

I have healed a lot and know and see the ways he shows me he loves me and always has, his own ways, but yeah. I have daddy issues, and I’ve always felt like older men are more caring, understanding, and able to be what I need from a man. I also have a deep need for stability and consistency, from myself and others, which older men also tend to have figured out later on.
