Stupid anecdotal story ahead:

I frequent a fairly unknown right-wing blog because I'm a masochist and I've been following this place for probably five years (or longer) now. It's comprised of almost all geriatric GOPers (only about a dozen regulars on this site). They know me well and we've had some real lively "debates" in the past. We basically just treated each other as punching bags and had a laugh about it.

These guys have hopped on the Trump-train and are laughing about his calling out to Russia to hack the DNC and they're into that new pro-Kremlin/Putin thing, so I simply asked:

"Many of you guys remember the Cold War and the fear of Communism spreading, however now it seems that Trump and many of you guys are sympathetic toward Russia and are even in support of Trump's calling out for espionage from a country that not long ago we each had nukes crammed down each other's throats. Furthermore, Trump's recent comments on NATO would have certainly ignited an absolute shit-storm here if he didn't have an R next to his name, and you know this."

And just like that, I was banned, and every single comment I ever made was deleted. I knew these people by name even, and we've had endless shit-flinging-fests, but that was the comment that sent them over the edge!
