Women diagnosed with ADD / ADHD later in life, how did it make sense?

I just want to say thank you and apparently it's to you specifically. People like you in the subreddit are what got me to get my ass in gear and talk to an online therapist to finally get going to get tested. I explained all of the issues I had been having that I have been surprised to find out that people in the subreddit also struggle with, and was also super super surprised when the therapist agreed with me. I've had not only myself but the school system and my family for years telling me that I was lazy and immature and irresponsible no matter how hard I try(I literally remember arguing with my mother "I just don't notice the clutter the same way that you do, it's just some how not a primary focus when I walk by" . This has taken far too long(30) and I have you all to thank for that final push. a good friend, after getting diagnosed, a couple of years ago looked me in the eye (which he wasn't apt to do) and told me I should get tested, and I goffed a bit. I was very wrong.
