Growing up in the 80s, the word going around was that men hit their "sexual peak," whatever that is, at 17, and women hit theirs at 35.

It's a convenient narrative for betas. Helps them understand why they're sexually frustrated at 17, and points out that by the time women have any chance of enjoying sex, they are already middle-aged, married, probably a kid or two as well.

I was 39 when I figured out how much bullshit this was. I was fucking around with a 19 year old behind my wife's back, really enjoying myself but figured of course there was no way this girl could possibly be feeling much, she's not wired that way.
