Women of Reddit, what’s your cringy “nice guy” story?

He also went way over the top in a lot of ways. He'd bring the girls flowers or memorize their favorite candy/soda/snacks and present them as a "token of his great affection" (yep, he called it that). He had a bad habit of insisting, like legit would not take no for an answer, on walking the women wherever we needed to go.

We had a guy like that who hung around our friend group in college! He was in the same building as us, and I'm not sure how he knew any of us, but he was just kind of there and was always trying to get with the girls of the group. He wasn't your typical neckbeard fedora tipper, but was actually quite handsome and academically successful, but he was just so fucking creepy. He'd talk to whichever girl he was interested in that day, and basically ignore everyone else... Just way too aggressive and had zero social awareness. To get a proper mental picture of this guy, imagine a younger Don Draper, but he absolutely exudes creepiness and bad vibes. Like if he could've stopped being creepy for one day he would have had no problems getting dates.

Anyways, we solved the problem by just having all the dudes copy his actions, which became a fun little game in and of itself. He offered to walk one of the girls to her car, three of us joined in and made a ridiculous show of "keeping her safe," walking in a perimeter like we were presidential bodyguards or something. Another time he decided to take his guitar and serenade some poor girl who was studying outside on a lovely day, so some of my friends who had guitars grabbed them and went over and basically went "oh hey, are we playing guitars and making music? Here's Wonderwall!" And you could see the guy just deflate. Fun times.
Looking back I'm not sure if anyone ever pulled the guy aside and just talked to him about his behavior. It would have been the smart and mature thing to do, but I don't know if it would have made a difference anyways. In any case we saw it as an opportunity to get our friends out of unpleasant situations, and of course we thought we were hilarious.
