Women of Reddit, what is your 'trying to buy a car/item but the seller is sexist' story?

Back when I was still active in my city's local metal scene, I would do live performance and promotional photography for bands. (I'm an actual photographer, not a hobbyist with a camera.) It was kind of amazing how sexist a lot of those bands could be. Many of them thought they could undercut my prices just because I'm a woman. They very rarely would try that with male photographers.

My partner was active in the scene as well (he was a musician in a popular metal band that did well for themselves) and musicians who wanted to hire me for photos would literally contact him about it and try to get quotes and price details from him. My partner had nothing to do with my business besides being supportive of it.

The best part was when his band was putting out a new album, and they had a part on the back of the CD pamphlet where they were thanking people. They thanked all of their friends, family members, crew members and photographers they had worked with since their last album...except for me. When my partner asked why I wasn't included, he was told, "Well, she's your girlfriend, we don't want it to seem like we're playing favorites." I was literally part of the team that shot the images for their album cover and booklet.

I stopped shooting for them, and my partner left the band soon after. Some of his former bandmates still pretend like they don't understand why we never got along, lol.
