Women who have babies - how do you feel about strangers interacting with your baby (i.e. smiling, waving, making funny faces etc.) when you're out and about?

It's fine, I don't mind. Please don't touch them, especially if they are little. A hand shake if the baby is over 1 if they're reaching is okay. My children need to interact with the world in a integrative manner.

But I've had an elder lady straight up pull my one year old out of her highchair and hold her. My one year old was reaching up, but still, please don't do that, it's scary for a mom. The lady didn't speak English and was not from my country. She was saying just how white and beautiful my daughter was, she looked like a porcelain doll rosy cheeks and all. Her granddaughter had to translate, whom also felt uncomfortable, but one does not tell an abuela what to do.
