Oof this is something I've been thinking about as I'm going to be moving to a smallholding on my own and sadly I had to get my brother sent to prison for stealing from my late mother amongst other things. I know he'll come for me one day so I'm being pretty careful. Anyway I will get good security and CCTV, and a daily call service to make sure I'm ok. I hope to be a valuable part of my new community and I think in rural areas it's easier to meet and help each other. I'm going to make one room inside the house safer so I've got somewhere to run to, and get a shotgun license. That and an alarm hooked to the police I should be ok. If the brother situation didn't happen I'd be less concerned, probably just have basic general security but as equipment theft is high I'd just have to make sure my tractors and tools are safe.
