I don't believe voting matters (on the individual level). All voting is done for personal reasons. You can treat it as a sacred practice, and get some utility from participating in sacred traditions. You can treat it as a thing you do for no reason, despite the fact you will almost never have a pivotal vote, but it will become a burden. You can treat it as the equivalent of a facebook like to the state.
