'I Work 3 Jobs And Donate Blood Plasma to Pay the Bills.' This Is What It’s Like to Be a Teacher in America

Yeah some of these stories.. like where the 'Grant' guy is making $63k/yr and 'barely scraping by'. Like, shit dude, some people would be thrilled to have that kind of pay. And then he goes on to say, " What we’re hoping for is competitive salaries. If Tacoma wants to continue being a world-class public school system, we need to be able to attract new teachers and keep experienced teachers. Quite frankly, if I can drive an extra 10 minutes to make $10,000, that’s an easy decision for me to make." .... it sounds like that's an easy decision to make...

Also what the hell school district pays their teachers $73k, I'm moving there and becoming a teacher so that I can get summers off and get paid a fat check and probably get sweet health benefits.

My sister is a teacher and lives comfortably without a side job. Granted, she's extremely smart and makes pretty frugal decisions like living with a roommate and such.
