I work in a fast food restaurant. Someone stole my headphones from the changing room (I left them with my jacket by accident. I usually have them in my locker) so it wasn't caught on camera. Managers are semi-useless and basically implied that nothing can be done because it won't be caught on tape.

Please try and understand that people make mistakes sometimes.

The first time was genuine naivety. I left my bag in the changing room while I went to the toilet (which is also in the changing room). I was gone for a grand total of 2 minutes and something was gone.

Ever since, I've kept all my belongings with me or in my locker, and I never purposely leave anything out in the open. Today I was late and in my haste, for the first time in over 2 years, I left my jacket and headphones behind.

I'm mad at myself for slipping up because it was one time and I got fucked over.

But mostly I'm mad at the fact that shitty people do shitty things and there's apparently fuck all you can do about it. I'm mad that there's a 99% chance that the person who did it is still at work with me right now and there's fuck all I can do about it.

My headphones aren't even that expensive. Expensive enough that I'll have to wait until payday to buy another pair, but they're not gonna break the bank. I'm just mad at all the moral injustice shit.

I know it's easy to read something like this and go "lol that's what they get for being so stupid", but sometimes one moment of carelessness is all it takes for something like this to happen.
