I work for DoorDash Support - AMA

I mean that the whole is that in theory you get more pay. I totally get that you guys get screwed over, everyone hates the new pay model, the sad reality is that due to the line of work, your totally right in that it has such a high turn over, they think the new pay model works. They tell us it works, we tell you it works. We know it doesn't work.

The way it's looked is that if you complete one order and you get a $20.00 tip, your paid and additional $1.00 for the delivery, so where's the problem? You made $21.00 for one order. (I see the flaw here, however this is how it's looked at overall)

I've saw dashers who used to make $1000 - $1500 per week now make $700. They're trying to cut costs everywhere and this is just another way. Recently they've got rid of one of the more expensive Customer Service departs to outsource them for a cheaper alternative.
