Work on yourself before you look for a partner isnt always good advice

I get you! I wasn't particularly an "empty cup" when I met my boyfriend. I was in college about to graduate, I had friends and hobbies I enjoyed. But I was going through the motions of life, just doing the bare minimum. My boyfriend was the one who instilled in me discipline to get better at things I do. He was the one who encouraged me to be honest about what career path I wanted to pursue. He's the one who's always cheering me to never give up and to stay hungry. He would always tell me he sees so much potential in me and that he wants to be around to see me grow. He has made it so that I want to keep doing all of these even if he happened to no longer be around. Sometimes, you just meet someone who pushes you in a good way. And I'm glad you found your person.
