Best thing I can think of doing is cut all auto payments into pension schemes, vote to cut taxes, and invest the savings in anti-inflation assets instead.

I'm surprised that everyone is attributing this situation to the Tories. Corruption aside it seems the best way to bring balance back would be to cut NHS, as it disproportionately benefits the elderly who have all the assets and pay next to no contributions to on going society.

The saved money should go to tax breaks for families and longer term investment such as science and education.
