Workout of the Week - Descending Tempos

A brief overview of my poor decisions.

September 25th: Peak Marathon

November 18th: Wedding + Cruise

December 11th: Local Marathon

This guy doesn't own a calendar and is trying to cram. Let's look at my off the cuff training:

Week of 9/26: 17.4 miles Not a great start

Week of 10/3: 30.4 miles You said you're training for a marathon?

Week of 10/10: 93.5 miles 23.3 mile long run is a good start

Week of 10/17: 74 miles including a 1:15 half

Week of 10/24: 78.5 miles 24 mile fast long

Week of 10/31: 79 miles including a 1:13 half

Week of 11/7: 99 miles 26 mile easy long

Week of 11/14: 69 miles including some intervals and MP on the treadmill

Week of 11/21: 40 miles on the cruise but I had at least 80 drinks

Week of 11/28: 70 miles including a last ditch effort to learn what marathon pace feels like

Week of 12/5: Don't shit the bed, don't shit the bed

I ran 5:40 pace in Berlin, and would have liked to run another sub-2:30, but I think the weight I put on over my honeymoon killed that plan. Currently looking at running around 5:50 pace and cutting down to 5:40-5:45 after the half.
