World Cup (Russia) Solo Travel

Depends on what you like and how much time you have. Here's some suggestions for each area.

In Sochi looking around the Olympic area (afternoon bike ride) doesn't take long but there is a small amusement park right there that you can spend a couple hours in. I think you can ice skate in the arenas if you want. The mountains nearby you can hike, do a via ferrata climbing route or bungee jump from the sky bridge. Or go up the mountain to a water park. I'd say 3 1/2 days for all of that... 1/2 for the Olympic park, 1 for hiking/skybridge, 1 for via ferrata, 1 for the waterpark.

In St Pete's 1 day for the Hermitage, 1 day for the summer palace and a canal cruise and 1 day to wander around the city

I recommend taking the high speed Sapsan train between St Petes and Moscow.

Moscow... Red Square and the State Historical Museum, I suggest ending with cocktails at the rooftop O2 bar for sunset over Red Square (1 day). You could do a self guided metro tour in a half day to see the most interesting stations. The area by the Hotel Ukraine (Now a Radison Hotel) has classic impossing communist architecture. You can leave from there for a boat cruise of the city. There's a cool flea market with some WW2 stuff and delicious grill food (seriously I would go there sometimes just to eat). Ballet at the Bolshoi, a russian bathhouse.... I'm gonna stop there but let me know if you have questions. There's a lot to do there so depends on your interests.
