(1) our population grew significantly last year despite COVID-19

The estimated birthrate for the U.S. in 2020 was 1.7, with 2.1 being the replacement rate. The U.S. population grows due to immigration, not birthrate. Saying a 0.5% increase is "significant" is a bit of a stretch as well.

(2) CO2 does convert to oxygen by way of healthy oceans and forest, saying it doesn’t go away is a falsehood

Very little gets absorbed by trees. A significant portion of new CO2 does indeed get absorbed and converted by our oceans but saying it is "healthy" is downright nutty (that's the acidification that's killing the great barrier reef for instance). Once CO2 is in the atmosphere though, it generally stays there for hundreds of years. The vast majority of CO2 that was put into our atmosphere during the industrial revolution is still there, and what we put into the atmosphere today will be there hundreds of years from now. Reducing new CO2 is only part of the solution.
