World seafood species in decline . 82 % were below levels that can produce maximum sustainable yields. 87 populations were in the “very bad” category, with biomass levels at less than 20 % of what is needed to maximize sustainable fishery catches

Contrary to popular opinion, farming is not the best option. When you farm, for instance salmon, the entire population of salmon survives. This is obviously not the case in the wild. Most of the population in the wild are taken by other predators, or fall under due to whatever other natural factors, mostly the strongest survive. When you have an entire population survive, you end up deteriorating the general health of the population. sometimes large numbers of individuals escape the farm, and mingle with the wild population. Eventually leading to a subpar species. Im not arguing that thrawling is good for the environment, which it isnt, but simply that farming is not the solution.
