World at War is still the best CoD as far as I’m concerned

No, I wouldn't say painfully realistic, haha.

I don't think soldiers in World War 2 were spending 40% of their day throwing away grenades that magically rolled up to their foot. Also, most of the game, you get shot once and then run away to hide for cover. Come back, kill 2-3 AI, get shot, run away and hide for cover. Rinse repeat until you reach the end of the game.

I think some people in this thread are remembering this game with some rose tinted glasses. It was actually pretty poorly designed and I'm confident most people in this thread, if they were to go back and try to play it, probably wouldn't have the same opinion of it 30 minutes into revisiting it.
