The WORLDWIDE Web everybody.

Plus setting up to be GDPR compliment is super easy

No, it's certainly not. Maybe if you're Amazon and can hire a a whole legal team to cover every aspect of the law, but certainly not if you're a small or mid-sized business.

We had to hire two lawyers and spend a 5 figure sum to become GDPR compliant. Our web development team wasted almost a month on implementing the crap. And the legislation is so convoluted that the lawyers ended up arguing about how stuff should be implemented. In the end, we are now still not sure if we're compliant with the law. A cease-and-desist order could come any day at which point we'll have to spend many, many more thousands of Euros on additional lawyer fees.

The whole thing is a complete pile of shit as far as I'm concerned. Not only has it affected our business negatively, it also regularly pisses me off privately when non-EU websites are now straight up blocking EU-based visitors completely and I have to use a VPN to even see the content.

It's things like this that make me vote for political parties that want to end the EU. The cookie law that came a few years before is another complete failure.
