The worst part about growing up is learning about how fucked up the world is

I'll probably get laughed at for posting this, but this reminded me of something that ICP always put in their CD booklets (shut up I liked them as a teenager). It always had an ominous message in the booklets that said "Dedicated to the Butterfly". After about 15 or so years of no one knowing what the hell it was a reference to, Violent J (lol) revealed the story.

When he was a small kid, him and his brother (I think) caught a butterfly. They put it in a jar and went to bed. When they woke up, they realized they hadn't put holes in the top, and the butterfly died. They were crushed. Nothing could ever be worse to them than that situation.

He said that the dedication to the butterfly was really a dedication to the innocent of youth, because as an adult, your world isn't going to be crushed because you killed a butterfly. As you get older, there is so much more horrible shit going on in the world that you don't even give a second thought to something like that. So he was dedicating all the albums to the innocence of youth and how beautiful it is, and how terrible it is that we become desensitized because of the world around us. I always though that was really deep for a rap group that sang "Bugz on My Nugz".
