"worst" Star Wars movie directed by the guy who made the "best" Breaking Bad" episode. Not a critique, just an observation while rewatching BB.

I’ll see TRoS again. I survived bad SW films before, and this too shall pass. I also feel that nothing is totally irredeemable. There are genuinely cool moments & enjoyable set pieces in the film, but the audience isn’t allowed the time to digest any of it.

My biggest issue with TRoS, however, is that there aren’t any stakes. The plot is built only to progress itself, never to explain or delve into characters. Even significant things like death have no meaning in the film because as quickly as it establishes one action, it’s ready to undo what was just done.

It’s poor writing, poor direction, & a poor excuse of a way to resolve a saga. In many ways, it was a movie, and arguably trilogy, that served no purpose because we’re basically right where we ended (sans the old cast) at the closing of VI.
