Do you think it is worth it to move to WI?

Everyone from here thinks it's the best place ever. I really wanted to like it more than I do. We were excited to move to WI and some (not all) aspects have been disappointing. I generally like the climate, scenery, towns, food, etc. There are a ton of cool things and places to explore. Drinking is way more acceptable. Never seen such proud alcoholics and bars with playgrounds. Cost of living is negligible. Housing feels artificially high right now, but there still isnt enough. Building codes are 20 yrs. behind but lowering costs. The mix of housing in some areas make me wonder if zoning exists. Rules are really just a suggestion anyways. Its weird. I stopped looking at the speedometer. Doesnt matter since most people drive slow and sit in the left lane. Yes people are nice, but it's kind of superficial and almost less respectful. Pandemic behavior of the anti science crowd exacerbated that. Medical care has been a downgrade. Staff are nice, but competence is questionable. They seem understaffed. Local Drs told me to keep out of state specialists. Water and air quality kind of sucks. Look into that. I wish I had. Rules are just suggestions and seem to skew toward business anyway so the EPA has no balls. Schools are 20 years behind. Education here sounds like kind of a mess but locals think it's the best. I'm not an expert in that but I know one. I'll try to make up for it at home. Standards seem inconsistent. The voucher system is garbage and will screw public schools more. But I believe in a separation of church and state and resent paying for religious schools. It really depends on your priorities and how the weighs with the pros and cons. There is a very independent spirit here with the occasional fuck you undertone. And my list of gripes is more the surprises we encountered. It's certainly livable and enjoyable up here. Just some cultural things and paper mill smells to get used to.
