Would you abort a child if it was disabled?

Honestly name a more ignored, marginalized group than mentally disabled adults. The go to response in this type of discussion is always "but they're happy, they are living a full life." and from my experience that is almost never true. I think that's what people say when they want to dismiss something before it starts to affect their feelings. I believe people dismiss this topic to protect their energy.

I have met quite a few adults that were classified as mentally ill, r-word(automod auto deletes), or living with a significant brain injury. What I mean is I have had one on one time to talk to that person and understand their suffering. Something that most people outright WILL NOT do, ever. Many of them suffer with addictions, as addictions come easier with mental impairment.

In America, these adults have it the worst. Where they depend on their parent/guardian to take care of them forever. Or they end up working a job at a grocery store, or a fast food chain, forever. When they're not on the clock, they are tending to their addiction, which is usually alcoholism, because that doesn't show up on a drug test.

I cry about this topic all of the time because I feel like it's one of the worst, unsolved/ignored/forgotten issues we have. I wouldn't blame anyone for aborting a child if some type of testing came back abnormal and the child was not going to have a fighting chance in a world that closes doors on them.
