Why would an image like this make the front page of a certain community on Reddit?

Thanks for the quick response.

I interpret the image to be a visual representation of the phrase "judge a person by the content of their character, not the color of their skin", or something along the lines of "skin color isn't important". But I guess that could be an inaccurate interpretation, but when I look at the image and ignore who posted it, that's where my mind immediately goes.

reinforce the, "I'm not racist! I just want everyone to get along!" idea that they don't actually believe in

This I'm not sure about, that post with the image in my original comment had 6000+ votes last time I checked.

Are you suggesting that the majority of Trump supporters, if we take the unspoken sub to be an accurate representation of what the typical Trump supporter thinks, are all consciously pretending not to be racist?

I'm not sure if I believe that, my view is that the alt-right, Neo-Nazi's and white supremacists are a very small subset of Trumps base. I base this on the fact that I constantly see images of the type in my OP and when the alt-right calls for a "unite the right rally", the best they can muster is around 300 - 500 people.

Of the 60 million or so people who voted for Trump, how many of them are Neo-Nazi's and White Supremacists in your view?
