iCloud Backup and iCloud Sync are completely different things.

Using iCloud Backup on DF iPads has never has worked because you cannot backup OSU’s device management system JAMP. Even though you’ve never been allowed to backup, it’s never actually restricted DF iPads from still selecting iCloud Backup. Essentially, what this means is when you graduate from OSU, you won’t be able to “backup” to a point a certain point in time where OSU managed your iPad.

iCloud Sync is still available to be used and that is what you use within apps like Notability to backup your notes to iCloud or your photos / messages across devices. You will not lose your notes or anything that you’ve synced to your iPad.

But just to check you have your device synced to iCloud go to your Settings > iCloud > and turn the button to green to make sure your apps that you want synced are synced to your iCloud.
