Would anyone mind giving me some tips?

For the mines there are a few things that could help you.

  1. Luck -The mines are affected by luck so the chance of finding ladders to the next floor will increase (check the TV fortune teller).
  2. Ladders - Crafting ladders is pretty easy it's only 99 stones so make sure to take a few with you when you enter the mines It also allows you to place a ladder incase you are out too late.
  3. Items - Clearing the mine can leave you with a lot of items especially early on if you haven't got the backpack unlocked. Placing a chest on the entrance to the mine allows you to dump off all your extra items to avoid heading back with a full inventory.

For Elliot just by the beach. He's normally on the beach or staring at the river on the bridge.

For the travel cart any items you've missed in bundles, rare seeds or animal products (duck feather or rabbit's foot). it gets easier.

For fishing, the mountain and town are best places to fish. Don't worry it gets easier over time.

Chests are fine in front of the house. You can get a storehouse after just don't let it block any building projects.

For energy you can make a foraging bar or visit the Spa in Summer. You can also talk to villagers or try killing enemies in the mine for items.
