Absolutely! My kid is in 7th grade and can do some babysitting for short periods of time. That's kiddo's paid job when I'm working for a couple hours or so in my office at home and a couple of the other parents in the neighborhood are starting to call asking for a sitter while they go to the store etc as well. More of a mother's helper since I'm at home and there's no diaper changing involved or anything like that, but getting more comfortable with babysitting in general.

I do have a phone number list and a "what to do in an emergency" discussion as well outlining different emergencies and how they should be handled. CPR certification is in the works as soon as we find a place to do it in person, red cross doesn't offer any classes where we live.
