Would it be considered stealing if you used a design that was made by someone trying to copy your own character?

Another question!

What would you say if someone drew art of a character you own? If the artist says to you that you are not allowed to 'use' it (Assume whatever you like 'use' might mean), not even upload it to your own online gallery (I.e. Deviantart, FurAffinity, Toyhouse) with more than enough proper credits in the description, title, everywhere that you can on the post, would you think that is or isn't fair, and why?

Consider adopts. Say you spend up to 80+ dollars on a HQ design from someone. That person has accumulated more than 20 pieces of art and conveniently has easily visible credits on the posts, and on a direct download of the image, the file's name as the artist's name on it, if the seller of the design deleted the posts of that character.

Now, you post all the art finally of your character and an artist comments saying that they spent hours making it and that they are no longer friends with the seller of the design you spent a whole lot of money on and they want you to take it down. You own copyright of the character, yet this person will NOT let you even link it to anyone from the artist's post in their gallery. That artist also does not have credit for either the seller of the design or yourself.

Is it fair to comply with their (assuming rude) demands, or is it unfair?

Would you delete the art from your gallery or wouldn't you?
