Would a Crosstrek feel underpowered if I am coming from a 145 hp car?

I test drove a 2014 Crosstrek and it felt fine around the city and could merge easily on the motorway(speed limit is only 100kmh(62mph) here in NZ. I ended up buying a 2010 2.5 Outback. Went back a couple of months after getting the Outback and drove an XV again. Felt a little more sluggish comparing to the OB(my OB has a chip to remap the fuelling and throttle controller in so is slightly more rapid than a standard one). I previously came from a VW Golf TSI, so the CVT takes getting used to. And we go camping a lot with a lot of gear so I’m glad I got the OB and not an XV for the extra power and space. But if I was single it would have been an XV no doubt.
