Would you feel obligated to tell someone you've experienced "paranormal" things in their home?

Okay, this is going to be very long, but it's relevant.

TLDR - My mom fucked around with an Ouija board and nearly ended up losing her mind because of some invisible force sexually assaulting her - which was eventually experienced by my sister, three aunts, and four investigators.

Five to six years ago, my mom had become obsessed with contacting her dead mother via Ouija, EVP's, and seance meditation (essentially a seance done alone while meditating). I was unaware of all of this, as she did it all in her room, late at night.

Now, until that point I had experienced a few things as a kid. However, I don't really believe my young self saw anything paranormal - it could have been anything. Needless to say, I didn't think ghosts or anything of the sort was real. At this point in my life I was also struggling with heroin addiction, and spent most of my nights nodding off at a buddy's place or my dealer's business. This is important to note because the testimony of a drug addict is far less believable than that of a sober person. While heroin doesn't exactly make you hallucinate, anything I experienced while high should be ignored. Which is why I won't share my personal experiences.

Anyways, after about a year of trying to contact my grandmother, my mom decided to give up and put the Ouija board under her bed for storage. This is when things got weird. Voices, bangs, footsteps, the usual. However, something started happening to my mom that both freaked me out and made me worry about her mental health.

Every night when she went to bed, she would lay there unable to sleep. She would then feel something slowly crawling on the bed, similar to a cat except he wasn't allowed in there. She would lay there and refuse to move out of fear. It would crawl on her, crawl on the bed, and then vanish - and then repeat all over again.

While that is strange, it gets really weird. It started to become... Sexual. My mom would suddenly feel something rubbing her crotch, and pushing on it. She would feel something crawl up her legs and begin touching her inappropriately.

You might now understand why I was concerned about her mental health, as that just sounds batshit crazy. She was slowly becoming a mess and had no idea why it was happening to her. She refused to sleep in her bed, and still experienced it - wherever she went. She honestly believed she was losing it as well, and ended up admitting herself for psych evaluation. After two weeks they released her, saying that they didn't think she was mentally unstable. As far as they could tell, she was perfectly sane. Although they couldn't explain this phantom sexual predator she kept feeling.

She began inviting her sister's over and had them sleep with her - without telling them what was going on. All three of my aunts woke up in the middle of the night and flipped shit because they felt something crawl on them and then touch them sexually. After that, my mom knew she wasn't losing her mind. However, she now had three sisters absolutely pissed at her because my mom "tricked" them into sleeping in that bed. My sister even tried sleeping in it, and she refused to come back to the house for nearly two years.

My mom contacted a local paranormal investigation group to see if they could do something to stop the activity, and they all came over for two nights. My mom made sure to avoid telling them about the experiences in her bed, and just told them about some of the other things that had been going on. The group consisted of four girls and two guys.

The first night was spent doing your everyday investigation - which yielded no results. The second night they decided to do a seance in her room. The four girls sat on the bed while the other two guys sat on the floor. They were doing and EVP session when all four girls said, almost simultaneously, that they could feel something crawling on the bed but couldn't see it. Suddenly, one of the girls made a quick scream and jumped up with her hand covering her crotch. Everyone was looking at her and she said she thought she felt something touch her inappropriately, and definitely looked very uncomfortable at that point.

My mom ended up pulling her aside later and explained what was going on with the bed. While the girl was relieved that she wasn't the only one to experience it, I could tell she wasn't happy about it. The first thing she said was: "You need to tell people about these things beforehand" in a rather bitchy tone, not that I could blame her.

So, they did a little cleansing with white sage, gouged money from my mom, and left. We never heard from them again - although I read an interview of the lead investigator in the book Ghost Stories of Saskatchewan 3 where she ends up mentioning our house as the scariest place they ever investigated. She definitely took some creative liberty and made a bunch of shit up (like saying she had a priest come to the house but he was too scared to continue, lol). However, they did mention things about the ghostly sexual assault.

Despite the cleansing and investigation, my mom continued to experience these attacks. One night, in the dead of winter, she woke me up and gave me the Ouija board and told me to burn it. So, I went into the backyard, threw it in the fire pit, dumped an entire bottle of nail polish remover on it, and lit it up. Ended up staying there for about a half hour burning the damn thing. Apparently she never experienced anything again after that, which I personally find strange. If other people hadn't experienced the exact same shit, I would be willing to say that my mom ia unstable. However, too many people experienced it for it to be a coincidence.

It should also be noted that anytime a man was in the bed, it would stop. No idea what that is about.

Sorry for the long ass story, but it explains why I believe that anything deemed Paranormal should be mentioned before a stranger experiences it and freaks out. Even if the paranormal is all a farce, some people will take it very seriously and will be thankful you warned them.

I'd like to believe this whole thing is bullshit. Anything's easier to believe than a ghost rapist. It's some Scary Movie shit.
