I would love to see WWII BF from DICE LA

MOH:WF was a classic case of EA over management and general short sightedness.

Apparently they were building the entire game on the Unreal 3 engine, which powered the single player from the first game. The first Medal Of Honor (2010) was split between the Unreal 3 engine and the Frostbite engine becuase EA didn't give them enough time build both single player and multiplayer so they just contracted DICE. This was because EA needed a modern military shooter in 2010 to go up against Black Ops.

So come Warfighter, Danger Close now has 2 years to build a game (the standard amount of time for a last-gen shooter) and decided to work with the engine they know, Unreal 3. No big deal right? Well in 2011 BF3 came out and EA made the executive decision to move all of their 1st party games that aren't sports titles to their new super next-gen engine, Frostbite. Guess what this means for Danger Close. Yup, with a slated release of fall 2012 they had to port their entire game that they had over to the new, shiny Frostbite 2 engine.

Ever wonder why Warfighter felt completely unfinished? Well now you know. It was. They had roughly a year to port everything they did on the Unreal 3 to the Frosbite Engine and finish the game in 2012.

Now I've only ever heard this all through the grapevine of internet communities but it made sense. I bought MOH:WF for the BF4 beta so I attempted to play it. While it had some great ideas, it was so underwhelming. It never made sense why a developer with an AAA budget couldn't make a complete game in 2 years. When I heard about the shit the game went through all of the pieces of the puzzle kind of fell together. Unfinished game, EA's new policy of using the Frostbite Engine for everything and BF4 beta access tied to the preorder (presumably to increase sales because they knew the cluster fuck that would be the launch of Warfighter).

So yeah, Danger Close (now DICE LA) got screwed by EA.

If somebody else knows the full story I would love to hear it because, as I said, I've only heard this from people who followed the development closely.
