Would I be overly intrusive if I (19m) initiated a conversation between my friends (19m, 20f) who are not on speaking terms?

  1. You're taking gender way too far into account here. You clearly have some sexist bias because you keep emphasizing my friends' genders.
  2. My friend was never "pursuing" her, they were LONGTIME friends before this and had a falling out. That's completely different from someone who is trying to ask someone out because Aly has shown clear interest in being Jim's friend.
  3. I got defensive because it pisses me off when people always assume the worst, and I don't agree with that at all. When I'm caught in a lie I try to be calm to not raise suspicion. When someone accuses me of lying when I'm not, that's the most fucking irritating thing.
