Would you really be bummed if we missed the playoffs?

“What makes you think we won’t trade all top talents away after this season, as is Marlins tradition?”

Do you seriously think that’s a possibility?

I mean, sure, it’s a possibility. It is possible that the Angels trade Mike Trout for a massive prospect package, but its hardly likely. If the Marlins did what you’re suggesting it would mean the destruction of the goodwill they are trying to build and would effectively ruin all of the messaging they have been trying to push about building a homegrown winner. It would make everyone believe that the new ownership group is just as bad as the old ones were. Not to mention the fact that doing so would just be a flat out bad baseball decision, considering the talented pitching staff they are in the process of assembling and hitting talent that is currently getting its first major league experience.

Like seriously man, give the new ownership a chance. And If you hold their trades of previously established players like Stanton and Yelich over their head, you’re thinking with your heart not your brain. That team was going nowhere, the fact that they never were able to put together a .500 season proves this. They lacked the pitching to consistently win, and their lineup, which everyone obsesses over, actually wasn’t all that productive. The only option was to rebuild and not make the mistake of trading away all of your pitching again.

Now, if you want to criticize the new ownership group for how some of those trades have worked out, specifically the Yelich fiasco, then be my guest, at this point in time it was an awful trade by all accounts. But that shouldn’t sour your opinion of the rebuild as a whole, every team is going to make bad trades, it doesn’t mean any hope of the rebuild being successful is lost.

I’m not saying it’s not possible that this offseason the Marlins just decide to trade away all of their young talent for now reason, but there’s absolutely no reason to believe the Jeter group has any intention of doing so.

My final message, be patient man, this team is building for the future. They’re trying to build the organization into a perennial playoff team, not one that makes the playoffs once as a 6-8 seed during the most messed up season in baseball history.
