Would you stop playing if they removed 3rd person entirely?

"Only one person server for Europe." For Europe. I have no problem connecting to EU servers on the games I play, try connecting to NA servers, because incase you didn't notice, majority of DayZ's playerbase is NA. So yeah, ~really~. (If you can't because lag, then it's a personal problem.) "I haven't played the mods." Then what do you know about anything DayZ and "Dean's vision?" You only know what the standalone tells you, which is vastly different from what the mods would have. "Because you play 3pp" I've already stated that I HAVE played 1pp, and i've played it plenty of times. I'll try out as many features as I can in a game if it gives me more enjoyment. 1pp did not, because my sense of danger and thrill was equivalent in 3pp as it was in 1pp. If you have to be limited to feel that way, that's your problem. Dont drag others into it. "Mirror's dont really work like that." Do you not own a mirror? It's pretty easy to angle mirrors once you get used to it. Sure, it doesn't give you the whole view that 3pp does all at once (unless it's one o'dem fancy pantsy curvy mirrors), but it's a lot more practical than "hurr durr idk how to squat or lean." That, and you could just, idk, turn the mirror. "I don't want to fully trust strangers, I want barely contained, intense encounters." So basically, you want to shoot at each other first, and then get shot when he ~lies~ agrees to put his gun away. My point is that interaction outside of blasting each other in the face occurs less often in 1pp than it does in 3pp, and that's due in part to being able to contain a situation a little (yes, little) better than in 1pp. The same guy that would shoot you in the aforementioned scenario would shoot someone under the same circumstances in 3pp. It's not as different as you say it is. "it's about which mode blah blah fear blah survival situation" Have you never been in a survival situation? It's not as crazy super adrenaline as you believe it is until you're actually in immediate physical danger. Which isn't all the time. It's only a fraction of the time. Go have someone drop you off in the middle of the woods with nothing but your clothes, then come back and tell all of the DayZ subreddit thread "Would you whatever" how every moment was brutal and horrifying and kept you in a constant adrenaline rush. Dont forget the part where you sweat from picking some berries, or shit your pants from a pine cone falling from a tree. Survival isn't nonstop encounters or limited to surviving a fight. It's mostly what you do before and after that. Survival in DayZ includes you eating that can of peaches, passing up that suspicious canteen, switching from a T-shirt to a raincoat, bandaging after dealing with the single zombie that made you bleed because you missed your punch, splinting from the retarded ladder/stairs glitch. What you think is the main part of survival are gunfights, and it's really not. They've enabled you to live in the game away from players and cities. Idk what's so "intense and unforgiving" about that. Seems pretty casul. "Dean's vision" What in the world do you know about Dean's vision for the game he's no longer a part of and claimed was flawed from the beginning after leaving? What do you know about Dean period? You didn't play the mods, you played Breaking point on Arma 3, which Dean had no hand in aside from what you playing being inspired by the DayZ mod. Dean's vision this, dean's vision that, you dont even play the first game he made, and you claim to understand exactly what he wanted with the game he peaced out on? Bohemia isn't even that involved with the game's development, FYI. Nearly all of what you see is dev team, not BI. "Perhaps that's why he's so adamant about" Do you know what Dean's job actually was/is? At all? He's the Peter Molyneux of survival sims. If you dont know who THAT is...well, I'll just forget that I bothered to actually respond to you and pretend no words came from either of us. "There's about three full 1pp servers in Europe...don't want to bother spamming to enter..." Sounds like a regional problem, not a game design issue. Yell at your queen about having shitty internet or yell at your fellow EU gamers for not being better consumers to warrant game devs to pay better attention to Europe. "By the time mods arrive" yeah you're still referring to europe, but I'll pretend that you mean the game in general. As I said before, it won't split the community nearly as much as you think. FFS I admin'd a random obscure private hive dayz epoch server, and I had around 20-30 people playing on it on average. The one time it peaked to 45 (I believe it was 45. if memory serves correct, 50 was the max), we got nuked by a hacker, so we started capping it at 25. And there were germans, europeans, squeakers, etc etc fuck we had a 71 year old man playing on the server. You're worrying about nothing...well, for the game. Sounds like EU has it rough, but again, that's a regional issue, not a game issue. Even with h1z1, people that play dayz are still going to play dayz. It's not a game people just up and quit. They almost always come back to it. "All i'm really good at is Mosin" ~implying that using any of the other guns is more difficult~

It's fine to want that sort of game, no one's gonna bash you for it. Well, i won't. Because that does sound cool, and I'd like to play a game like that (as long as it had 3pp). It's also not elitist to want that. What's elitist is pretty much everything else you've been saying. And if it's not elitist, then ship me off the europe so i can suffer with the queen and her two cups with a piece of string for internet.
