Would Trading Henrik Zetterberg Be a Good Idea?

"But muh advanced stats"

Otoh, there's nothing advanced about this author pulling up a stats line and saying "These numbers are different from these other numbers on his stats line!"

You can look at things like his "with or without you" that say that he spent most of his season glued to Abdelkader and put in wildly different performances without him.

I talked about Abby's stats yesterday, and here's his wowy.

Top right is better performance, red boxes are 'player without Abdelkader, black boxes are 'player with Abdelkader', blue is 'Abdelkader without player'.

Strong, obvious trend that everybody 8 plays with puts up significantly better Corsi without him.

Just one way of saying what the fuck Abby ... but Z has 938 minutes with Abby and some hints that's not his performance level with other forwards when he escapes from him. How much did 8 skew his numbers?

One interesting thing on Z's WOWY is that he played 28 minutes with Jurco -- incredibly small sample size leaves this as "a record of what happened" vs "predictive" -- but Jurco is often used in a shutdown role (which he's very good at) and for those 28 minutes they completely shut down the other team as hard as you can.

That's a pretty physically tough job. Could a truly declining two-way forward do that job so successfully?

Too many questions when you dig at Z's stats from different methods to just say "His production was lower. That's bad."
