[WP] After hundreds of years of sending messages into the sky, humanity receives its first message from intelligent life. Decoded it simply says, "Be quiet before they find you."

"There it is," Neil said quietly. "I promise you I didn't put it there as a joke." The scientists in the room crowded around the screen, whispering among one another. They were a mixed group, delegates from all over the world. All had descended on the small lab when they'd heard of the message that had appeared a few days ago. Most were still convinced it was a hoax. A desperate plea for attention from a maverick lab going out on a limb on new, untested technology. Be quiet before they find you. "This is probably coming from someone right here on Earth if it wasn't you guys," one of Nigel's competitors said. "And how exactly would they have managed that, Steve?" Karen asked, rolling her eyes. "I don't know! But c'mon - this is straight from some bad scifi flick. I believe Nigel when he says he didn't do it, but someone else sure did," Steve muttered. Someone let out a scream as another message flickered up on the giant screen on the wall. Block the wormhole. They are coming. "Oh, please," Steve groaned, to a chorus of people shushing him. Neil was rapidly responding, his fingers flying over the algorithms on his keyboard. "I'm asking where this wormhole is and how we're supposed to stop it," he explained to everyone looking at him. "Maybe later we can find out who we're actually talking to." He had barely finished speaking when another message popped up again. We have always been right here with you. Be quiet. We are trying to block the wormhole for you. (I'll probably continue soon, have to go eat now!)
