[WP] The gunpowder age pushed most mages into support and healing positions. You are the last of your kind, a battle wizard

"Black Echo" the enemy used to call it, and with good reason.

The Cu Chi tunnels were key in the resistance of the Viet Cong. For low down beneath the ground grew a system, with the aim to defy the horrors of the surface above.

Le Ke Quan sat quietly at his post, covered from head to toe in dirt. Air, food and water were scarce in the depths of the tunnels, making the veteran grow weaker by the day.

He sat in silence as they prepared for yet another napalm strike. The more bombs dropped, the stronger the mentality grew. Johnson was getting frustrated.

Yet these men suffered just like all soldiers of war. Malaria was rampant and numbers were dropping quickly. Dead bodies had to be offloaded at night during 'safe' periods.

This is why Le Ke Quan had no friends. He remained silent and did what he was told. Yet over the past few months orders had stopped being given out.

He was a free roamer, armed with a single staff. People had heard the stories but most wrote him off as senile.

Well, up until January 30, 1968 they did.

The Tet Offensive was one of the largest military campaigns of the Vietnam war, launched by the Viet Cong forces against the south.

Written reports tell tales of men levitating and disappearing into thin air. There are even claims that Le Ke Quan brought down two F-105 Thunderchiefs with his bare hands.

He had no past and spoke no words of it. He remained silent throughout the most devastating period in his country's history.

Silent as rat, sat beneath the surface, waiting for the the next enemy to walk into his trap.
