[WP] It sure is hot..

It's a Saturday afternoon. I'm sitting on my couch, the sound of the fan and busy traffic drowns out the television. I can barley make out what is being said. The pretty, new weather lady comes on the screen " Looks like its going to be another scorcher today." she says as a bead of sweat drips down my face. " Make sure your AC is working because it is going to be H.O--" A ambulance screams by overpowering the weather lady. I get up to get myself a glass of water when I hear a buzz at my door. "Yeah?" I ask into the intercom. "It's me, let me up." Its my friend, Ted. "Holy hell it's hot out there. Bout 150 degrees" Ted isn't that bright, he's the type of guy that says whatever is on his mind. "I saw this real fat broad on my way over here. Like I'm talking whale size" he says as he riffles through my fridge. "So, I see her walking down the street when BAM! She passes out and hits the ground. Dead." He says. I look at him with confusion and worry, "She died?" I ask. "Well, I don't know if she died, but it sure as hell looked like it." He says as he pops the cap off of a cold beer. "What did you do, just watch?" I asked him, still confused and becoming a bit angry. "Come on, don't make me feel bad." he says. "Well?" I asked with a more serious tone. "I saw her fall over, then a bunch of people rushed over to her." He says. "You did'int hear the ambulance that just drove by?" he asks. I had completely forgotten about the ambulance that had drove by. "Yeah, I heard it." I said, trying to cover up the fact that I had forgotten about it. At this point Ted has grabbed himself a beer, taken off both his shoes and socks, and is on the couch flipping through television channels. " I can't stand this heat, man. It's too damn hot." He says before taking a long swig from his beer. Ted has always bothered me. We had become friends through work although he was always pushing to hang out. We had mutual hobbies, so that made it easier. "Hey, you see that game last night?" he asks with a smile on his face. "No, I actually missed it." I lied to him in hopes to avoid a sports discussion. Sports is actually what started our friendship, but Ted would go on for hours and not lot anyone else get a word in when it came to sports. "Well let me tell you abo--" the door buzz's and cuts off Ted. I walk over to my intercom wanting to thank whoever buzzed. "Hello?" I say. " Police." they say. I look over at Ted who is caught up in whatever he is watching. "The police? Is everything alright?" I reply. " Yeah, just need to ask a few questions. I buzz them in. I look back over at my couch and see that Ted is gone. "Ted? Ted?" I call his name. No answer. I figure he's in the bathroom. "Police." I hear, along with a knock at my door. I open the door. "Hello, sir. Can we come in? We just need to ask you a few questions." they ask. "Can I ask what about?" I ask, thinking that that's the normal question to ask. "There was a death, just down your street, we're just gathering some information." they say. I let them in, thinking Ted could be of some help. The cops and I both take a seat. "Is anyone else here sir?" they ask me. "Yeah, friend of mine is in the bathroom, he actually saw the women pass-out." I respond. The two cops look at each other and one reply's "The reason why we're here is because a women has been murdered down your street, and the main suspect was seen entering your building." I'm confused at what I hear. "Here? In my building?" I ask frightened. "Where is your friend sir?" At this point I begin to sweat. My vision becomes blurry, my ears begin to ring. "Could Ted?" I think to myself. "Sir? Your friend?" the cops ask as they get up and begin to grab for their guns. As my vision becomes more clear, I see Ted behind the two cops. "Sir!" the cops begin to yell. My body is numb, Ted had killed that women. I see Ted raise the gun to the the cops as I struggle to get out one word..."Don't".
