My parents always told me my grandfather was a recluse. I remember seeing him four times in my life. The first on my fifth birthday where he showed me magic tricks that fascinated me, the second being Christmas day when I was nine years old where I got a brand new bike, the third time I saw him was when I had turned sixteen and I was gifted a car by him, of course by that time I had heard the rumours in the news about him so I knew how he had gotten the car. The last time I had seen him was at grandma's funeral, my father said it was the only time he had seen grandpa cry. Now at the attorney's office, I knew why I was gifted what was supposedly the most valuable part of the will despite having seen him so few times. I was the oldest grandchild.

Grandpa according to the papers and the internet was the head of a multinational crime organization. I saw him so few times because my mother didn't want anyone from that life associating with me but my dad had a soft spot for his father and let him meet me those few times. My mother didn't even want me receiving anything from the will. I obviously still went and was a little disappointed I didn't get any mob money I could have used some of that. I got instead a package wrapped in newspapers with a note saying
