[WP] A veteran superhero is watching over her city when a villain approaches her. He tells her that her archival is dying and requests a final conversation with her.

"He request that you arrive promptly, and wishes to inform you of his last wishes." The Originator says solemnly.

I stared at him, with half a mind thinking this was some sort of trick or ploy. But he sounded sincere, unlike his cocky attitude towards our fight just last month. I can almost see the sadness in his eyes behind his visor. I felt a deep sensation In my chest.

"Lets not keep the doctor waiting, shall we?"

He gave a quick nod, and climbed back onto his hover board. I followed suit, using my powers of flight.

We drifted slowly through the busy city, between the building tops and skyscrapers. Suddenly, I started reminiscing all the different times, that I had to swoop in and save this very city. Starting from humble beginnings, small time robberies to big time disasters. Times have changed, I was growing old, 20 something odd years of doing this have caused quite a strain on my mind and body, and the city seems to take note, calling me in less and less, even the new mayor saying for me to think about retirement, and letting some of the younger heroes to step in more.

Maybe he's right.

I getting too old for this hero business, maybe think about going somewhere quiet for a change?

Before I even realized it, We've stopped in front of the small apartment building. We walked up the flight of stairs, stopping just outside his door. As I thought back to the first time I was here, The Originator walked up the swiftly took out a key from under the mat, and unlocked the door. Stepping aside slightly, and gestured me in.

The smell of stale air hit me deeply, as well as a faint hint of green tea. I stepped through and took a view of the room. It looked normal, like ones you would expect of a showroom living room, except with slight worn down features. But you could tell it was his, with the electronics scattered about the room and blueprints on the table. Along with a few powered down robot minions in the corner.

I was stilled worried this was a trap, but I looked to the side, with his bedroom door, slightly ajar. I took a worryingly step forward and pushed it aside.

Then it all hit me at once.

This wasn't a joke or threat, but reality. I felt a chill down my spine.

I saw him sitting quietly on a wheelchair facing away from me, next to his bed, looking out at whatever he could from his small bedroom window. He looked thin. He had his uniform hung neatly, next to even more blueprints and plans on his desk.

"Hello Dr. T." I said quietly.

"Afternoon Miss Victorian, Or should I say Kathleen?"

I looked down and chuckled slightly, then walked closer to him. "Why didn't you tell me Terrance?"

"I didn't want to worry you." He said with a smile.

"Funny, Being worried about my Worst Enemy." We laughed a little more.

Then Silence. The feeling in my chest got colder, and my throat started to clamp.

"What is it?" I managed to force out. Though I could already see with my vision.

"Bone Marrow Cancer, Kind of ironic really."

"How long?"

"6 months"

Then silence once again.

"18 years." He says.

"What?"

"18 years we've known each other, and I'm surprised we kept it going. When did we first find out about our identities again? 5, 6 years ago?" He asked questioningly.

I made a face, "God don't remind me, when I found our you were my daughters professor, I almost had a meltdown."

He smirked slightly, but his eyes still seemed so tired. So distant.

"We should have stopped when that happened, just choose to settle down, and just live out the rest of our lives peacefully..."

he kept quiet, I looked at him, the feeling getting darker.

"I don't regret it, you know?"

"Hmm?"

"All those years, those schemes, those fights. I don't regret any one of it."

"Why's that?" as I started to choke back a few tears.

He finally turned to face me. "Because I met you, and you brought back meaning into my life again."

I knelled down slightly, as he reached up to slide off my mask. I few tears already sliding down my face.

"Because you gave me something to fight for, something to go out and try....after my wife died." He reached up to cup my cheek in his still warm hand.

"Because without you, I would have just stopped caring, I probably wouldn't have let the cancer kill me first." Tears in both our eyes.

"Because you," He choked back a few more tears. "You changed my life without even trying, and I don't think I can ever tell you how much you mean to me. I can't imagine what things would be like if...if I hadn't met you."

And with that, the dams in my heart burst, and all the pent up emotions I felt came pouring out my eyes. He pulled me into a hug, and I started sobbing into his shoulder, Staining his shirt.

We stayed like that for who knows how long, until I ran out of tears, and just did slight hiccups in my throat.

"I only wish for two things now." He finally said.

I nodded into his shoulder.

"First, Please, look out for my son for me." He gestured to outside the door. "He's stubborn, Immature and tempered, But after losing his mother at such a young age, I can't blame him. And now losing me too, I don't know what he's going to do, so please, Make sure he behaves, maybe help him find a girlfriend for once." He still managed to joke.

I smiled slightly.

"Second, Retire, our generation is over. Most of our friends are already. And there will always be good and evil battling it out even after we're gone. So go out and enjoy the rest of your life, be with your daughter and family. Experience all the things you wished to do if I wasn't here, Alright? Make the most of it."

We held each other a little more before we pulled apart. I stared into his green eyes, and he stared into my blue.

"You're still as beautifully as the first day I met you." He said quietly to me.

I smiled as I blushed slightly, "Making an old women blush, You."

"Still got it." He smirked. He place my mask in my hand and pulled me down once more, Kissing me slightly ontop my forehead.

"Once again, Goodbye Miss Victorian, Thank you for everything, and hope to not see you again soon"

"Same to you, Dr. T, same to you."

We smiled a sad smile to each other once more, with silent looks, and then we let go. I turned and took a deep breath, before walking out the door.

The Originator stood leaning on a wall to my left, With his helmet and visor taken off, Still with a sad look.

"Thank you Timmy, I'll be taking my leave."

He looked at me, then away, Whispering, "Don't call me that."

"Super hearing, remember?"

He scoffed, waved me off, before he started making his way into the door behind me.

I took one last glance back at the pair of villains, before heading out the door, and down the stairs. I pulled out my phone, and punched in the numbers.

"Hey, Sweety? I've been thinking, maybe it time to take a break from it all, how about a vacation? Maybe to the tropics, sounds nice?"

and before she could even protest, I took off into the sky.
