[WP] You wake up in the middle of the night, and find the words "Leev now." and "Your going to die." written in blood on the walls. It'd be terrifying, if you weren't a total grammar nazi.

"Seriously?"

That was my first thought when I saw the words scrawled across the walls of the cabin.

"Leev now. Your going to die." Dripping in blood.

"I mean, seriously?" I sat up annoyingly, calling out to the empty cabin room.

Being sleep deprived does funny things to your brain, and the last thing that I wanted was to have my sleep disrupted again. The owners of this cabin did promise a night of peace and quiet in the wilderness. It was the reason why I traveled so many miles here.

"I say leev....."

Another line appeared under the first one, also in blood.

"It's leave, spelled L-E-A-V-E, and 'said' instead of 'say'", I retorted. I was standing next to bed now, eyes still adjusting to the darkness. I know I should be terrified, alone in the woods with an entity that's able to write in blood. But somehow I was more irritated than scared. There's a ghost in here that needs serious English lessons.

The door suddenly slammed behind me, which gave me a jolt. The lights started to flicker shortly after, like how you would usually see in ghost movies. But I stood rooted in the room.

"Oh, the classic door slamming and light flickering trick, uh? I'm not falling for that. And your first sentence, you should be using you're, with an apostrophe and 'r-e', not 'y-o-u-r'. That is to illustrate possession. Didn't your teacher teach you?" I don't know where my courage was coming from but fear was the last thing on my mind then.

Just as I finished, a shape began to materialize at the corner of the room, in the form of a teenage boy. He slowly floated down to me, his eyes fixated on me. They had this sad look in them.

"No..." this time, he talked. "My mummy don't like me go to school. And then my daddy kill us one day when he is angry."

I looked at this boy, my annoyance slowly turning into pity.

My friends used to tell me that my obsession with correcting the grammar of others will eventually get me into serious trouble. They certainly didn't expect it to earn me an otherworldly friend.
