[WP] It wasn't a pleasant smile.

She always had a beautiful smile as child. When strangers saw her smile and laugh they would alway tell her mother and step father that it lit up the room, it was a gift from God, or even it was just pure happiness and innocence embodied in a living thing. But atlas like the setting sun, her smile slowly faded into nothing more than apathetic expression as years passed.

At the ripe age of twelve, her mother asked "Darling, where has your beautiful smile gone to? You never smile anymore, and when you do it is as real as plastic doll. Tell me what is wrong." and the girl on the verge of womanhood would only shifts her gaze side to side and then into her mothers pleading eyes replies "Mom, I want to tell you but I am afraid of what would happen if I do. That little girl is not me anymore. Please stop asking me for my own sake." As the mother pleaded more to tell her the secret and that her child could trust her, the little girl walked away.

Seven years has passed, and the mother still lingering on that conversation and what she meant. It was plaguing her mind more now than ever on her drive from home. She started questioning her parenting, was her Todd her step father hard on her daughter, could she do more for her but no real answers came to her.

As the mother turned the corner of the her suburb, she saw emergency response vehicles at the house. She drove faster to get there, busting out of her car and rushing towards the police officers that were keeping the neighbors at bay, she yells "This is my home, what happened? Where is my husband and daughter?!". An officer lets her through and directs her to an ambulance on which her daughter was sitting in the back, her clothes were torn, blood all over her jeans and shirt. The mother looks around "Oh my god! Are you OK?! Where is your Todd? Is he ok?" the daughter with tears in her eyes, "I finally did it mom.. I faced my demon and sent him straight to hell" The mother rushed over to her and hugs her tightly before looking at daughter to see she was smiling but it wasn't a pleasant smile. The mother lefts go suddenly and asks with panic "What do you mean him and you faced your demon?!" The young daughter looks away and her smile becomes more unpleasent "Todd, mom.. He was my demon, he raped me and made me do things to him. He made me swear i would tell you or anyone, if I did he said he was going to kill me and you... But tonight, he came into my room again to get what he called his "fatherly rights" and.. and I stabbed him with a letter opener over and over again until he stopped moving..." The mother horrified moves away in sheer terror, disgust and horror. The daughter looks at her mother "Its ok mother, I tried to tell you but he was always around and when I did almost told you, you hushed me up and told me to stop lying. But it is ok, I stood up for myself since you wouldn't". The daughter then stood up and nodded to the police officers waiting to arrest her.
