[WP] Write an exert from the book you haven't written yet

As I stand with my gun in hand before all the night's horrors, I see something that could change fate for all eternity. A bright spot amidst the darkness of humanities’ shadows and treachery.

My last hope.

My saving grace.

The true savior of the dying havens of Earth.

The one who will kill me.

She stood face to face with the elderitch things. A queen of white among black knights, who tore and snarled at each other to kill her. The white Valkyrie stood, challenging them all to a duel of one against the many. The shadows complied with ancient weapons out.

Despite her glowing aura of purity and power, I trembled in fear—for I had done the forbidden, the unforgivable, the evil that shan't be spoken. The lady in white who bore the spear of Cain and sickle of Abel shredded through the mutated things. The ones who blamed humanity for the nuclear outbreaks and the Fall hundreds of years ago.

“You left us to die in the dirt,” the demons hissed. “Why have you left us? You took our choice and let us rot in the deep!”

With a blinding flash of light, the railgun boomed thunder and the blazing blade struck lightning. The dark beings melted under the combined fury of her weapons until nothing was left except smoking ashes. The White turned toward me, weapons in hand. A tear ran down her cheek, and finally fell against the metal frame that was her body.

My time has come, I can finally rest. I dropped my pistol to the smoldered ground and sank to my knees. "Go ahead, kill me. If I was you, I'd blame myself as well. I'm sorry for what I'd done to her." I closed my eyes in defeat and hoped for a quick death.

The Light took my words with sorrowful eyes. She closed her weapons and said, "She wouldn't blame you, you were just doing your job. A job I asked you to take. I'm the one who should be sorry."

A warmth, a breeze of fresh unpolluted air, the feeling of a hug. I opened my eyes in surprise as the Angel's arms were wrapped around me. Despite the cold hard metal arms that embraced me, I felt warmth through the carbon nanosteel armor. For the first time, I didn't think about the horrors, the crimes, and the pain.

I was happy.
